Delete your account

Last updated 2026-10-16

Everything Koinonia holds about you can be removed, by you, without asking anybody. Here are both ways to do it and exactly what happens.

In the app

Open Koinonia, go to Settings, and choose Delete account at the foot of the page. You will be asked to confirm once. After that it is done immediately and you are signed out.

From this page

If the app is not installed, or you are on a computer, or you cannot sign in, use the form below. Signing in here proves the account is yours, which is the only reason it is asked for. The deletion is then the same and just as immediate.

If your account signs in with Google, it has no password, so this form cannot close it. Sign in with Google at koinoniaword.com or in the app, open Settings, and choose Delete account there: no password is asked for.

If you cannot sign in at all, write to [email protected] from the address the account uses and it will be deleted for you within 30 days, usually the same week.

What is deleted

Your account, your email address and your name. Your password hash. Your profile, and what you said about your walk on the way in.

Every conversation with the assistant, and every message in them.

Your notes, your journal entries, your highlights, your bookmarks, your reading history, your reading plans and your progress in them, your quiz answers, and your streak.

Your documents and your posts. Your subscription record and your usage counts.

All of it, in one go, with no copy kept back.

Deleting some of it, and keeping your account

You do not have to close your account to remove things from it. Anything you have made, you can delete on its own, from the place you made it, and it goes at once.

A post: open the feed, and use the control on your own post. Deleting a post removes it for everybody, along with any picture or study attached to it and the record of who said amen to it.

A note, a journal entry, a highlight or a bookmark: open it and delete it, in the room it lives in.

A conversation with the assistant: delete it from your list of studies, and every message in it goes with it.

Your picture: replace it or remove it from Settings, and the file on the server is no longer served.

If something will not delete, or you want data removed that you cannot reach yourself, write to [email protected] from the address the account uses and it will be done within 30 days, usually the same week.

What is kept, and why

A report made about you, if there is one, is kept without your account attached to it. This is deliberate and it is the one exception on this page: it exists so that somebody who harms another person cannot erase the record of it by deleting their account and making a new one.

Nothing else survives. There is no backup of your study kept for analysis, and no profile of you retained after the fact.

How long it takes

The account and everything listed above are gone from the live database the moment you confirm. Encrypted backups roll over within 30 days, after which no copy exists anywhere.

Deletion cannot be undone. There is no restore, so if you want your notes or your journal, copy them out before you go.

Delete my account

This cannot be undone. Everything listed above goes, at once.
